It's fall season. The leaves are falling and we're trying to keep up with some projects. Currently we are working on finishing to aerify the fringes, tee boxes and fairways and hopefully try to eliminate the wet areas that appeared this spring by tiling, so bear with us. We have gotten a lot of positive feedback on the greens as they have healed well, so come out and play! The Ryder cup is Oct. 5th - Don't miss it!

2008 Iowa PGA Pro-Am #2 Results - August 11th, 2008

The 2008 Iowa Section PGA Pro-Am #2 was held at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines on Monday, August 11th. Forty-five four-person teams comprised of one professional and four amateurs competed in this event. The format was 18-Hole Individual Low Professional and Team Two Best Balls of Four Net with amateurs receiving 90% of their current Handicap Index.

The Iowa Section PGA would like to thank Ken Schall and his members and staff at Glen Oaks Country Club for hosting this tournament. Skip Holton placed 1st in the PGA Senior Division with a boggie free 2 under par 69.

The 18-hole "Gates Park" course at the Gates Park Golf Course

Facility in Waterloo, Iowa features 6,839 yards of golf from the

longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.5 and it has

a slope rating of 118. Gates Park golf course opened in 1928.

Skip Holton manages the course as the Golf Professional and

Mark Suchy is the course Superintendent.
